1. The platform is a noticeboard, not an investigator

Public Assets Watch provides a place for members of the public to record information about national assets they believe have been taken from the people of East Africa. It does not investigate, adjudicate, or endorse any report.

Every entry is an allegation made by the person who filed it. No entry is a finding of a court, tribunal, commission or any other authority, and nothing here should be read as a determination of guilt.

2. The burden of proof rests on the person reporting

By submitting a report you confirm that the information is true to the best of your knowledge, that you are acting in good faith and in the public interest, and that the responsibility for substantiating the claim is yours alone.

You accept that you, and not Public Assets Watch, may be called upon to prove the claim. Public Assets Watch is not the author, source or verifier of the claim and does not assume that responsibility.

3. Nothing is published automatically

All submissions are held privately and are only published after a reviewer has approved them. Reviewers may reject, edit, or request more evidence for any submission, and may remove any published record at any time.

4. Anonymous reporting and your safety

You may file a report without creating an account. If you create an account, your email is held so you can follow the status of your own reports; it is never shown on a published record.

Do not include information that would put you or anyone else at risk. Do not submit anything you obtained unlawfully.

5. Corrections and right of reply

Any person named in a record may request a correction, a right of reply, or the removal of a record by contacting the reviewers. Requests are handled promptly, and a record that cannot be supported by evidence is withdrawn.

6. No legal advice, no warranty

Information here is published for public interest and civic accountability purposes only. It is not legal advice, and no warranty is given as to its accuracy or completeness. Verify independently before relying on any entry.
